Big Kids + Camps
At JEC, learning and community continue well beyond the preschool years. Our school-age program serves children in Kindergarten through age 12, offering structured, engaging care throughout the school year and an immersive summer experience.

Beyond the School Day
During the school year, children participate in before- and after-school care, in-service day programming, and break camps. Our program provides a safe, welcoming space where children can unwind after school, complete homework, spend time outdoors, and engage in creative projects.
We Focus On:
-
Outdoor exploration and physical activity
-
Hands-on art and building projects
-
Collaborative games and problem-solving
-
Social connection and friendship

Year-Round Programming
Children are given space to relax and recharge while still being meaningfully engaged. Our educators guide with intention, drawing from Jewish values of community and responsibility alongside research-informed youth development practices.
Summer Camp 2026
May 28–August 21, 2026 | Full-Day Program
Summer at JEC is designed with purpose. Each week centers on a theme that encourages independence, creativity, and connection to the natural world.
We begin with Welcome to Summer (May 28–29) — two joyful days focused on community-building, learning camp routines, exploring the campus, and starting the season with excitement and care — from there, each week unfolds with intention:

-
Roots & Shoots (June 1–5): Gardening, tending, and care for the land
-
Hit the Trails! (June 8–12): Outdoor safety, navigation, and map-making
-
Cooking on a Stick (June 15–19): Outdoor cooking and shared meals
-
Myth, Magic & Storytelling (June 22–26): Folktales and creative expression
-
All the World Is a Stage (June 29–July 2): Theater and performance
-
Stories That Move (July 6–10): Puppetry across cultures
-
Into Fantastic Lands (July 13–17): Literature-inspired creative worlds
-
Where Nature Plays (July 20–24): Building with natural materials
-
Found & Forged (July 27–31): Art from recycled and found objects
-
Water, Weather & Wonder (August 3–7): Exploring Alaska’s natural systems
-
Living with the Light (August 10–14): Light, shadow, and natural rhythms
-
Belonging to This Place (August 17–21): Reflection and celebration
Camp days include outdoor adventures, creative arts, movement, field experiences, and collaborative projects. Children build independence, deepen friendships, and gain confidence in their abilities. Space is limited, and many weeks fill quickly.
